Verzenay
In the Beginning
James is the paternal figure of the House. He is the one through whom its great history began. He embodies his Village (with a capital V), the motto of the latter fitting the former perfectly: "there is truly only one".
Things were always done on a grand scale in those days. With the precious help of his wife, Josette, James positioned himself as a true ambassador of his Village, which he wanted to establish as the epicenter of Champagne.

Our House
A discreet House in the village of Verzenay, Grand Cru nestled in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Champagne James Drouot exudes the almost mystical impression of a sincere and deep love for its native land, for the One who saw it grow and mature.
For the Drouot family, Verzenay possesses this divine power that forges destinies and shapes paths. After twenty years of silence, the House's heritage comes back to life in the emblematic and secular bosom of one of Champagne's most prestigious crus, driven by the ambition to bottle much more than a wine: an epic.
The Renaissance
A New Chapter
Destiny eventually reunites the family. And the Village still seems to be pulling the strings. The family spirit is intact; Agathe and Hubert then take up a torch that time has come to temper and which has matured a renewed ambition.
A plan gradually takes shape. An idea in which Verzenay plays a central role... as expected. The siblings realize that their story was born from Verzenay and is destined to remain there. Their destinies are one, becoming one with the Village.

Our Philosophy
The Drouot philosophy holds that everything is connected to another and that a message is never just a series of physical and chemical reactions. Just as their life today is but a consequence of choices that Verzenay has guided. In the bottle, a message... around it too. This wine, this bottle, everything is alive.
